My Presentations 2012
03 MAY. Gave a talk to the after school club at Maypole School in Bexley. Around 20 children were there. They are still fundraising for the Lifeboats at the moment. Will post the final total for the school as soon as we have it.
10 April. Was invited to return and give a talk to Erith Ladies Probus Club. 48 ladies were there and again were a great audience. Last spoke to them about the RNLI in 2007. They raised £78.41. So, thank you all very much and thanks also for the glass of wine.
27 March Gave an assembly talk at St Botolph's Primary School at Gravesend and a talk afterwards to a a class of 6-7 year olds. All the children were very good and were a credit to their school. Later in the year this class will be raising money for the RNLI with possibly a cake sale.
26 March. I gave a presentation to The Abbeywood Women's Institute. Thanks to everyone there for the very warm welcome. A very enthusiastic group. Around 25 people there and raised £84.36.
On 20 and 21 March I attended the Metropolitan Police Junior Citizen Scheme at Hayes Primary School. Spoke to around 180 children over the two days about our Lifeboat Service and general water safety. As usual had a great time with them all.
07 February 2012. Met with 1st Barnehurst Brownies and spent 75 minutes talking about water safety and our Lifeboats and Lifeguards.There were 25 girls in all. We also played some whiteboard games and discussed what the beach flags mean. Another pleasurable evening. Left them with two Lifeboat pyramid boxes as they want to bring their pennies in over the next couple of months.
20 January 2012. Gave an assembly talk to 89 children at Benedict Prep School in Sidcup. What a great school and the children were brilliant. A very enjoyable afternoon with them.
17 January 2012. Was invited to talk again to Sladara (Slade Green Active Retirement Group). Last time that I gave them a talk was in January 2011. Had a really good time with them all and showed them a different film to the time before. They raised the fantastic sum of £116.33.
My Presentations 2011
05 December 2011.Gave a talk in the schoolroom at Queen Elizabeth hospital Safari ward at Woolwich. Spent two hours with the children. I was told that there could be between 1 and 12 pupils there. It varies day to day because of medical needs of the children. Three were able to attend and we spent around 2 hours together talking and showing them film of Lifeboats and playing RNLI computer games.It was great fun. I was taken to see a little girl in the ward that couldn't come to the school room as she was on oxygen. So I was given the chance to meet her and give her the same little RNLI giveaways that the other children received. A very rewarding morning for me.
22 November 2011. Spoke to year 6 children at Malcolm Primary School Penge for Bromley Junior Citizenship.
02 November 2011. Was invited to to talk to Trefoil Guild Guiders in Belvedere Kent. 25 very nice ladies there. Again had a really fun evening with this group. They raised a fantastic sum of £190.42 for the Lifeboats.
28 October 2011. Gave a talk to 116 people at Hiara in Higham Kent. Had a fantastic couple of hours with this group. Very friendly people and they raised the sum of £156.01.
18 October 2011. Spoke to 15 youngsters at the Nest Assessment. Newhaven Annexe in Abbeywood. The presentation lasted 1 hour and 10 mins. Have been asked to go back some time in the future.
07 October 2011. Was invited to talk to 1st Higham Cubs. Spoke to 25 of them about our Lifeboats and them staying safe when on or near the water. They gave us a donation of £20.00.
05 October 2011. Gave a talk to 4th Erith Beavers.We had a great time together. Only 15 youngsters there. They all brought money with them and raised £45.46.
23rd August 2011. Dimples Day Nursery. Dartford.Spoke to 30 young ones about staying safe when at the seaside.
12 July 2011. Dulverton Primary School Eltham SE9. 40 min whole school assembly talk with 400 children. Very nice well behaved children. A pleasure to do.
23 June 2011. Bo Peeps Pre School Welling Kent. Spent a great morning with the 22 Children,6 staff and 2 students.Lots of chance for the children to dress in Lifeboat and Lifeguard gear and pretend to rescue each other. They raised £24.62 for the Lifeboat Service.
14 June June 2011. Crofton School Junior Citizenship Scheme. Spoke to 90 children during the day about general water safety and about our Lifeguards and Lifeboats.
13 June 2011. Woolwich Rotary talk at Charlton Football Stadium. 21 people attended for the dinner and talk about the RNLI. They raised £ 82.95.
24 - 25 May 2011. Beckenham Fire Station. Met. Police Junior Citizenship Scheme.I spoke to 260 children about our Lifeboats and general water safety.
16 May 2011. Millenium Primary School assembly.
12 May 2011. 1st Blendon Brownies.£30.00 Donation.
11 May 2011. 5th Bexleyheath Cubs. Spoke to 26 Cub Scouts.Had a great time with these youngsters. Gave me a box of heroes as a thank you. On 09 November 2011 attended the10p sale that the cubs put on. They raised the amazing total of £111.00 in just a couple of hours for the RNLI.
09 May 2011. 2nd Barnehurst Brownies.Gave me a £20.00 donation and are going to put on a fundraising event for us later in the year.

Gave a presentation to Bockingford Senior Citizens Club down near Maidstone on 24 November 2010.Twenty one people were there. Gave a visual presentation followed by the RNLI film " Mayday " The group managed to raise £57.13

On Monday 22 November 2010 I gave a talk to 7th Bexleyheath Cubs about the Lifeboat Service and general water safety.We all had a great time watching the Lifeboat slides and talking about beach safety and the different flags that you see being flown at the beach. The cubs raised £44.50 for the RNLI and I was also presented with a nice box of Cadburys Heroes.

Gave a presentation to the Ladies Group of Belvedere Baptist Church on Monday 01 November 2010. Again only a small group of people, but we had so much fun that the normal presentation length of one hour became an hour and a half because of the audience participation. Donations on the night came to £80.55

Another Junior Citizenship day on Tuesday 19 October 2010 at Lee Green Fire Station. Spoke to 120 children about the Lifeboat Service and water safety.

I gave a presentation to the residents of Tudor Court at Sidcup on Thursday 14 October 2010. There were 22 people in attendance. We had a great time together and one chap called Peter tried on the Lifeboat crew gear. Together they raised the fantastic sum of £113.90.

I was invited to speak to Probus which was a Professional Business Retired Gentlemen's Group on Wednesday 06 October 2010. Again only a small group of 23 but a very enjoyable hour or so. They managed to raise the sum of £69.70 for the Lifeboats.

On 04 October 2010 I was invited to give a presentation to the Salvation Army in Bexleyheath. Although they were only a small group of Ladies, we had a very nice time together and had lots of laughs. £60.36 was raised for the Lifeboat Service.

On 15, 16 and 17 of September, I worked with the Metropolitan Police and spoke to 283 children regarding the Lifeboat Service and how they could keep themselves safe down at the beach. This was held at the Biggin Hill Fire station and part of the Junior Citizenship Course.
Instead of the comfort of being indoors, the event was held this time in Gazebos in the station grounds.
It felt a bit like we were camping.
Again, this was a very enjoyable event.

I was very happy to make a return visit to Dimples Day Nursery at Darenth Longfield on Thursday 12 August 2010.The children saw a short film about Lifeboats, then were shown what the different flags meant that they would see on the beach and then all the children were given the chance to do some role play rescuing each other.
A really nice morning was spent with them. 50 children were there and the staff gave me a £20.00 donation for the Lifeboat Service with a promise that they would try and raise some more money in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday 11 August 2010, I was invited to give a presentation at The Southfleet Independent Retirement Group.110 people attended in the afternoon and raised the sum of £106.54.

I went to Belmont School in Bexleyheath on Friday 18 June 2010 to attend with others for their career/volunteering morning.This was their first time for this event and as it went so well, they are thinking about holding it again next year.

I was invited to Crofton School in Orpington on 15 June 2010 to attend their Junior Citizen day.This as usual was a very enjoyable event and very much looking forward to the next one in July.

On 14 June 2010 I was invited to Bo Peeps Pre School in Welling to talk to 30 children.
They had a lot of fun seeing a childrens video and playing the Spot the Dangers Game. Some of the children dressed up as Lifeboat crew and also as Lifeguards.We had a scenario where some one was in trouble in an inflatable boat and needed rescuing, so a Lifeguard was sent to swim to the boat, rescue the person and swim back to the shore.Lots of children wanted to have a turn.
I was given a £10.00 donation and was told that I shall be invited back very soon as they hoped to raise some more money for the Lifeboat Service.

I gave a talk to Petts Wood Methodist Wives Club on 09 June 2010.
A very nice group to talk to.Twenty people attended including a few husbands.Was allowed to give a full hours presentation.
Jan, the lady that booked me for the talk was a great sport and dressed up in the full Lifeboat Crew kit.Was a great camera moment for those that had them.
Although a small group they managed to raise the sum of £78.11 for the RNLI.

I was invited to give a presentation to Cedars-Over 60's Group on 20 May 2010 down in Staplehurst.
There were only 12 people there but we all had a good time together. I must thank Beryl for the very nice refreshments that we all had afterwards.
Even though it was a small group, they still managed to raise £70.85 for the Lifeboat Service.

On 07 May 2010, I gave a talk to the Welling Towns Women's Guild.
Only 16 ladies there, but gave me a very warm welcome.

On 28 and 29 April 2010, I attended the Bromley Junior Citizenship Scheme.
This event helps to prepare year 6 children for their life ahead.
Fire, Police, Ambulance, Park Rangers, Lifeboat Service, to name a few of the people there to talk to the children.

On April 27 2010, I gave a talk to the Over 60's Cub in Warlingham South Croydon.
Again had a very enjoyable time with them all.
